Roster product overview: the seven modules
The seven modules

Fig. R2What it does

Seven modules, one run.

Every module, for every operator, from day one. In Roster’s own words:

Attendance & clock-in

Proof, not punch cards.

Selfie-verified clock-in from a phone or a shared-tablet kiosk, server-stamped and manager-verified before payroll, with privacy engineering built in.

Scheduling & rostering

A shift is an employee, a branch and a time.

Rotation across outlets, split and overnight shifts, rest-day overtime computed automatically, and working-time warnings seeded from the Employment Act.

Payroll & statutory

One run per company. Every line traceable.

EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB and Zakat; overtime by day-type; allowances, deductions and cash advances. Payslips freeze; corrections become audited adjustment runs; bank giro files generate themselves.

Leave, overtime & advances

Month-end inputs, settled before month-end.

Approved leave overlays the roster automatically; overtime is approved with its rate context; nothing is double-counted across working, rest, and leave days.

Employees & permits

One record per person. Warnings before deadlines.

IC, permit types, FOMEMA and passport renewals tracked with reminders, plus maker-checker approvals for new hires and salary edits.

Reports & dashboards

Numbers that reconcile, from every outlet.

Live attendance, frozen payroll reports, statutory summaries grouped by remittance type, exportable to CSV, by branch or company.

Multi-company & owner view

Account → company → branch → employee.

One login across every company you run, role-based isolation between them, and a group-wide audit trail.

Built & operated by Axis Wise

Built and run by the people you’d call anyway.

Roster is designed, built, and operated by Axis Wise, the same team that architects custom platforms for clients. It exists because we kept solving the same attendance-to-payroll problem for multi-outlet operators, and decided to solve it once, properly.

Fig. R4Asked often

Questions, answered straight.

Is Roster built specifically for Malaysia?

Yes: EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB and Zakat are native, working-time rules are seeded from the Employment Act, permit and FOMEMA renewals are tracked per person, and the interface runs in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese, and Tamil.

Do all our staff need smartphones?

No. Staff can clock in with a selfie on their own phone, or on a shared-tablet kiosk at the outlet. Every clock-in is server-stamped and verified by a manager before it reaches payroll.

We employ foreign workers. Does Roster handle permits?

That’s one of its reasons for existing: one record per person with permit type, FOMEMA, and passport renewals tracked, and warnings before the deadlines, not after.

When do the iOS and Android apps arrive?

Staff mobile apps are on the roadmap; the web app runs on phones today and is how the pilot operators clock in. Early-access operators hear first.

Who do we call when something breaks?

The team that built it. During the pilot, operators have a direct line to Axis Wise, the same engineers who wrote the payroll engine, not a ticket queue.

What about staff privacy and PDPA?

Selfie clock-ins are privacy-engineered (metadata stripped, manager views logged, consent versioned), and the whole system carries an audit trail and PDPA controls by default.
